Job Description  Front Desk Receptionist                                                                                                                       

Title: High School Front Desk Receptionist

  Job Summary:

The Front Desk Receptionist at Midland Christian School plays a vital role in providing a welcoming and efficient environment for students, staff, parents, and visitors. As the first point of contact, this individual is responsible for managing incoming calls, greeting guests, and ensuring campus security through the SchoolPass Visitor Management System. The ideal candidate will have exceptional interpersonal skills, a strong commitment to customer service, and a proactive, organized approach to daily responsibilities.

Lines of Authority:

Reports to the Office Manager/ Controller

Education:

High School Diploma or GED

Required Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a receptionist or in a customer service role
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Familiarity with office equipment and standard computer applications
  • Passion for and alignment with the mission of Midland Christian School.

Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
  • Collaborative and team-oriented.
  • Able to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Strong writing or storytelling skills (for sharing school highlights and mission-aligned content)

Reliable transportation.

Hours:

This is a full-time position during the school year. Summer hours: 9:00 am to 3:00 pm


Essential Functions
Essential functions of this position include the following.  Employees in this position perform some or all of the following functions.  Other duties may be assigned.

Reception & Office Support

  • Greet and welcome visitors, students, staff, and parents in a friendly manner
  • Answer and direct incoming phone calls
  • Maintain a professional and inviting reception area
  • Register visitors and issue badges in compliance with security policies
  • Provide information and directions as needed.
  • Handle incoming/outgoing mail and deliveries
  • Assist with high school attendance.
  • Perform administrative tasks (filing, data entry, photocopying, etc.)
  • Support the Office Manager and team as needed for smooth office operations

Mission Storytelling

  • Help capture and share positive moments, events, and accomplishments within the school.
  • Partner with leadership and staff to reflect how MCS lives out its mission
  • Assist with communications (e.g., quotes, story blurbs, photo submissions, bulletin board highlights) that show how God is at work at MCS.
