Job Overview

Responsible for overseeing all fiscal and fiduciary responsibilities for the organization, the finance and accounting team, and serves as the financial spokesperson for the company. The VP of Finance will be an advisor to all stakeholders, evaluating and collaborating on matters of strategic and operational planning, modeling, and business decision making. The VP of Finance will oversee the financial health of the organization, ensuring that the company has the flexibility and resources it needs to be successful, and will establish and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective investors, commercial and investment bankers, and the Ruby Family. The VP of Finance & Accounting will be a financial business partner for all locations and report directly to the President.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Management

• Act as a business partner and engage the finance and accounting teams to help build the business model, implement strategic initiatives, and ensure the company’s performance and growth strategy.
• Assess organizational performance against the annual budget and the long-term strategy and develop recommendations per organizational objectives.

T reasury

• Provides leadership and oversight of the company's asset and liability management functions, including external financing, cash management, establishing and maintaining relationships with commercial bankers, allowing open discussion on terms of available financing and relevant covenants.
• Researching and analyzing financing alternatives and providing recommendations.
• Monitoring operating cash requirements and maintaining cash budgeting and forecasting.

Accounting and Financial Reporting / Budgeting

• Provides leadership and oversight of the accounting department, ensuring the company's financial statements are prepared in accordance with relevant accounting principles and that the company meets its financial reporting requirements with outside stakeholders (banks, investors, etc).
• Assist with maintaining the company’s system of accounts and record keeping on all transactions while also ensuring the business's assets through internal control and review.
• Coordinate and facilitate the annual review process with external auditors.

Finance

• Provides value-added analysis of financial reporting to guide business leaders on the financial operations of the company; scrutinize financial statements to identify underperforming assets and potential areas of expense savings.
• Identify and understand trends, opportunities for improvement, and appropriate cost reductions
• Facilitate the company's annual budget process and overall financial modeling, planning, and analysis functions to ensure adequate cash/working capital to meet operational needs.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Experience/Certifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible senior and/or leadership experience
• CPA preferred, but not required.

Skills & Abilities

• Thorough understanding of accounting, financial reporting, and corporate finance.
• Strong leadership skills, with demonstrated ability to supervise, motivate, and manage others.
• Strong analytical skills and experience interpreting a strategic vision into an operational model.
• Adept at managing and overseeing financial operations while supporting the CEO & President.
• Effective communicator at all organizational levels, with strong oral and written skills and a willingness to share information.
